Vase with Phoenix Handles, Celadon glaze
This Longquan celadon vase is an instructive case in separating aesthetic comparison from legal designation. Its phoenix-shaped handles and pale-blue glaze can be studied without incorrectly promoting it to National Treasure status.
What the museum actually says
The preserved museum commentary identifies a thirteenth-century Chinese Longquan vase and explicitly says this object has not been designated a National Treasure. That statement belongs to the dated source snapshot, not a new legal-status check. The runtime metadata’s blank designation is preserved below, but it must not be read as evidence that designation was granted.

A comparison is not a transferred title
The museum compares the object with the celebrated vase called Bansei. The practical lesson is that similarity in shape, colour or esteem does not transfer another object’s designation or provenance. In your own viewing, compare the relation of the handles to the neck and body rather than relying on a status label to do the looking.

An object also has a repair history
The Japanese commentary records earlier repairs and a later museum conservation intervention. That makes condition history part of its interpretation, not an inconvenience to omit. This guide does not reproduce a conservation report or judge the repair from an unseen image. Use TG-2329 to find the exact museum object, and confirm display and reproduction terms independently.
